Haryana schools will reopen from today, students will be required to submit medical certificate to attend classes
Haryana schools will reopen today: As per the announcement made by the Haryana state government last week, schools for grade 10 and 12 students in the state would reopen effective today, December 14, 2020. As specified in the government decree, students wishing to take physical classes in person must present a medical certificate dated within 72 hours indicating that their general state of health is good and that they have no symptoms of coronavirus. Following the reopening of schools for students who are in their board exam years, schools will also reopen for students in grades 9 and 11 from next week, i.e. 21st from December 2020.
3 hours of lessons per day
Taking the cautious route, the Haryana government’s education ministry has decided to partially reopen schools for now. As part of this process, students were allowed to visit schools and attend classes only for three hours a day, i.e. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Reports have indicated that the state government will reconsider the progress of this decision and increase the total number of school hours per day accordingly later.
Medical certificates, parental consent must
To ensure that the process of reopening the school is completely safe for the students as well as for the teachers, the education department has devised some very important guidelines and SOPs. The dictates that students, teachers and non-teaching staff will have to undergo daily temperature checks and that those with fever will not be allowed entry.
In addition, students were asked to present a medical certificate of fitness dated less than 72 hours before being allowed to attend classes in schools. The medical examination can be done completely free of charge at the nearest community health center, the primary health center. In the medical certificate, the medical adviser is required to certify that the student does not suffer from any COVID-type symptoms. In addition to this, students will also be required to bring written consent from their parents.
